My latest game club promo image. A pair of gameboys. Turned out really nice. I love the lighting on this. For such a basic design and a small number of layers, it turned out pretty realistic looking.

Let me know what you think!

This is a quick poster I slapped together to advertise our ODST party this Friday. I love how basic it is.

I wish I had more time to work on the tape but, whatever. It gets the point across.

Well, I’ve gathered all my spare change laying around the house and purchased an Arduino board last week. For anyone that doesn’t know what Arduino is, it is a micro controller board that is based around c/java versus the standard stamp boards that are in basic.
These boards are around 35-40 dollars pre-assembled and are used with the ATMega328 chip. This is a significant decrease in the cost of the stamp controllers or the Lego Mindstorm junk. That stuff is just too expensive to get started with and Arduino bridges that price gap by removing some of the flare without removing any of the power. Take a look at their website with plenty of comprehensive information at http://www.arduino.cc.

The other great benefit of this stuff versus alot of the others is it’s all open source. The software, the hardware, the design information, everything is open for research and quite easy to find! Within a few days (with help of my father who has been doing this stuff for quite a few years with the stamp controllers), I had managed to not only start prototyping boards, but get a proof of concept on how I can make lots of these very quickly and cheaply by ordering just a few parts online.

I already printed this bad boy out. It was done in a rush and doesn’t look super great, but turned out pretty well for a direct copy/paste job.

Avoiding any kind of weapons was a mighty pain in the ass in this situation. If someone bitches about the small man on horseback with a bow and arrow pointed at the monster, I am just going to walk away.

I got my donkey kong scene done. I wonder if anyone will notice the easter egg reference on the high score that was recently found.

Any good?
I thought it turned out pretty well. Making this was very reminiscent of coloring

Yet another game club promo poster. This is a little too halo’ey for my taste, I hate halo, but I know that everyone else loves it. So be it!

So much halo.. :p I hate using rasterized anything. On to a Donkey Kong poster!

Yet another one. I’m trying to churn these out as quickly as possible.. Putting no more than 3 hours in each one. I think this one turned out pretty clean, I wasn’t totally happy with the layout of the wording, but all the other ways looked akward.

Enjoy

Yet ANOTHER poster. This one is for an upcoming lan party. Obviously, a play off a famous scene in zelda. I’m going to try to do 5 or 6 more of these in the next month.

Another promo I created as a play off the latest 9 movie poster. Origional work here. Sorry it’s not a direct link. The site is flash based. :/ It’s in there, but it will take some navigation.

I have been preparing for the new school year and am going to be hosting the local school game club and am trying to attract a wide range of students. I just finished the promo poster. I thought the pip-boy was a nice touch. ^.^

Let me know what you think.
